The federal and provincial governments are investing $15.5 million to move Fredericton's community college to the University of New Brunswick's campus.
The New Brunswick Community College in Fredericton will offer an expanded list of courses once the move is complete in September 2011.
"Once we get those relationships established, those articulation agreements, additional pathways for students," said Heather Hathaway, principal of NBCC Fredericton.
"Those are all increases that are going to improve access for our students."
Hathaway said consultations are underway to determine what courses will be offered.
NBCC currently has a satellite campus in the New Brunswick capital.
Of the $15.5 million being allocated for the project, the New Brunswick government is injecting $11.5 million.
The two levels of government also announced other new projects at Fredericton's three post-secondary institutions on Friday.
The federal Knowledge Infrastructure Program also directed $8 million to build a human performance analysis lab at UNB and St. Thomas University will receive $1.5 million for building renovations and technology upgrades.
