A Newfoundland man has been arrested after New Brunswick RCMP seized 10 kilograms of cocaine from a car Wednesday.

Kenneth Peter Kraakman, 30, was arrested on the Trans-Canada Highway near Havelock, after being pulled over for a traffic violation, according to Sgt. Blake Keirstead.

Kraakman was the only car occupant.

He was in Moncton provincial court Thursday and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking cocaine.

He was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Sept. 5.

The investigation continues.
