A two-vehicle crash in Belledune, N.B., Monday has claimed the lives of a man and woman from Rimouski, Que.

The crash occurred on Highway 11 at about 10:30 a.m., RCMP Sgt. Alain Tremblay stated in a release.

The victims, who were travelling together in one vehicle, died as a result of their injuries, he said.

A woman in the other vehicle, who is from Eel River Crossing, was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries, said Tremblay.

The preliminary investigation indicates poor road conditions caused one driver to lose control of their vehicle and collide with the other vehicle, he said.

No names have been released.
