A Moncton pharmacy was robbed Sunday morning, RCMP said.
The Champlain Street Shoppers Drug Mart in Dieppe reported a robbery shortly before 10 a.m., police said. No one was injured. Police confirmed some items were taken but provided no other details.
Paul Blanchard, executive director of the New Brunswick Pharmacists Association, said the theft of narcotics is a growing concern among his members.
"If you don't have the money to buy or to get a prescription illicitly then the more desperate thing to do is to try and rob a pharmacy," Blanchard said. "But the safety of our members and customers in the store is paramount and that's the message we're looking to get out."
He said the association is in the middle of a guideline review to address pharmacy robberies.
