A 33-year-old Moncton man is facing child pornography-related charges, after the RCMP raided a home on Thursday.

The man, who cannot be named due to a publication ban to protect the identity of the alleged victim, was arrested by the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, in partnership with the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.

He appeared in Moncton provincial court on Thursday, where he was charged with:

  • Possessing child pornography.
  • Making available child pornography.
  • Surreptitiously observing a young person in circumstances that give rise to a reasonable expectation of privacy.
  • Surreptitiously making a recording of a young person in circumstances that give rise to a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Investigators seized computers, and data storage equipment containing child sexual abuse images, while executing a search warrant at a Moncton home, Const. Jullie Rogers-Marsh said in a statement.

The accused has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to court on May 16, she said.
