Flames burned through a home in Moncton Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the scene on Jordon Avenue, and found flames coming out of the home.

Luckily Platoon Chief Rob Brine said no one was home.

"We worked about 30 minutes. It looks like the fire started in the basement area and worked its way up into the kitchen and into the attic a little bit. It gutted the first floor of the house. But we did manage to save the rest of the house," he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
