A 64-year-old male cyclist from Moncton has died after being struck by a truck on the Trans-Canada Highway near Salisbury on Friday morning.
RCMP believe the truck left the road after being hit by another truck that was trying to pass.
The collision occurred at about 7:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 2, near the weigh scales, Cpl. Philippe Cyr stated in a release.
The name of the victim, who was travelling on the shoulder of the highway, has not been released.
Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor, said Cyr.
The investigation continues.
