Cold weather and ice accumulation is hampering work in Moncton to shave down and remove snowbanks to help drivers and pedestrians see better.

Heavier equipment will have to be brought in to remove snow and move it to the city’s five hectare snow dump.

Sidewalk snow blowers are also having problems clearing because the extreme cold has hardened the snow.

The city said it is working as quickly as possible, but it is urging people to be patient and careful.
