An 82-year-old Mispec woman spent Tuesday night in the woods after becoming lost while walking her dog.

The woman was found in good health on Wednesday morning around 8 a.m. by some residents who had been assisting ground search and rescue teams in the search.

The woman was reported missing by her family on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. when she didn't return from a walk in the woods with her dog.

The dog had returned home without her and family members were not able to find the woman.

RCMP and the York-Sunbury, River Valley, Charlotte County and Tri County search and rescue teams searched through the night and early morning, along with area residents.

RCMP stated in a release the woman had taken shelter in the woods after getting lost on a wooded trail.
