An Atlantic Superstore in the Miramichi area is warning customers that ground beef products sold in the last few days may contain small pieces of metal.
The store is located on King George Highway. Spokesman Kevin Groh says the meat was sold May 14, 15 and 16.
"The piece is actually, effectively, a large twist-tie from some meat packaging," he says. "We recovered the twist-tie but a small piece of that may have gone through the grinder. Obviously you can't be too cautious in circumstances like this."
Groh says no injuries have been reported and no other stores have been affected.
Customers can return the ground beef and get a full refund.
