Arrested after RCMP received information about a man driving around with injured woman in back of van
A 40-year-old man from Saint-Paul was charged Wednesday with forcible confinement and aggravated assault, in connection with an alleged incident involving a woman in Greater Moncton.
Codiac Regional RCMP say they received information about a man driving around the area with an injured woman in the back of his van on Tuesday.
Police located the suspect vehicle in Dieppe on Régis Street shortly after 1 p.m., Cpl. Patrick Tardif stated in a release.
When officers pulled the vehicle over, they found an injured 34-year-old woman in back.
She was taken to the hospital, said Tardif.
No other information about the nature of her injuries or condition were released.
The accused and alleged victim are in a relationship, Tardif said.
A bail hearing is expected to be held on Thursday.
The investigation continues.
