A 25-year-old man has been charged with forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, assault and mischief in connection with an incident in St. Stephen earlier this week.
On March 18, RCMP responded to a call from a woman who said she had been held against her will at a home on Tower Hill, Sgt. Bob MacKnight stated in a release.
The suspect, who was known to the woman, fled and she was able to leave the residence to call police, said MacKnight.
Police arrested the suspect in St. George on March 20.
The accused, who is from Blacks Harbour, was charged in Saint John provincial court on Thursday.
He has been remanded in custody for a bail hearing on March 25.
