Lepreau man arrested for stealing truck, liquor
A 40-year-old man from Lepreau, New Brunswick, has been arrested in Fredericton in connection with the theft of a truck and liquor.
On March, 5, District 1 RCMP received a complaint of liquor being stolen from the NB Liquor agency store at the Lepreau Petro-Canada, but an attempt to locate the individual was unsuccessful.
At about 7:30 a.m. on March 6, RCMP learned that a pickup truck stolen from the Lepreau area had last been seen in the area of the agency store at about the same time as the alleged theft had occurred.
Fredericton Police recovered the vehicle and arrested a man this morning.
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Charges of possession of property obtained by crime, failure to comply with court orders and other offences are being considered.
Police are continuing to investigate.
