A 20-year-old Lakeville man is facing four charges, including attempted murder, in connection with a weekend stabbing in Moncton.

Kevin Dobson made a court appearance on Monday afternoon.

The RCMP received a call regarding an assault with a weapon at an apartment building on Main Street on Sunday evening.

RCMP Sgt. Andre Pepin said a man and a woman were fighting and a neighbour tried to intervene in the dispute.

The 34-year-old neighbour was stabbed in the left arm and shoulder.

He was treated at a Moncton hospital and released.

Pepin said the RCMP recovered a pair of scissors from the apartment.

The Crown objected to Dobson's release.

He will be back in court for a bail hearing on Wednesday.
