RCMP are reminding hikers to be prepared for an emergency after an ill hiker had to be rescued from the Goose Creek area near Fundy National Park on Thursday.
The 21-year-old man was walking the trails with two women when he became ill and couldn't continue, Cpl. Pat Cole said in a release.
Police were called about 2 p.m.
Officers and paramedics were able to determine the exact location of the hikers using a cell phone and had to use a four-wheel drive vehicle to reach them on the Martin Head Road, Cole said.
It's believed the man became ill because of the heat, he said.
The two women, also in their 20s, did not require medical attention.
RCMP urge anyone going out for a hike to ensure they have adequate water, said Cole.
They should also tell someone where they're going and when they expect to return, he said.
