Human remains found on a island near Gagetown in September have been identified as those of a Fredericton woman.

The remains, found on Gagetown Island on Sept. 19, have been confirmed as those of a 44-year-old woman who had been missing since January, the RCMP said in a news release.

RCMP have ruled out foul play.

No other information was available.
