A suspect was arrested early Sunday morning in connection with an alleged homicide on Fredericton's south side, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 2:05 a.m. on Angelview Court. Once on the scene, they said they found a victim in critical condition.

That person later died.

Six hours later, police said they arrested a suspect just outside of the city.

The Fredericton Police Force released few details, but said they believe the incident is isolated.

The name and gender of the victim hasn't been released.
