A Fredericton High School student accused of pointing a knife at a school resource police officer remains in custody and will appear in court on Monday.

Cpl. Yves Despres, with the Fredericton Police Force, said Saturday that he didn't know what charges the student is facing, but the youth went before a judge Friday.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Friday. After pointing the knife, the student allegedly dropped it and ran away.

The student was caught off school grounds, on Priestman Street.

Police said no one was injured.

A second youth was also arrested during the subsequent investigation. That person has been released from custody, according to Despres, but he was not sure if they are facing charges.
