An old warehouse building on the Old Berry Mills Road was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning.

Moncton Fire Department's platoon chief Dennis Dollemont said the building, approximately 100 by 200 feet and was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived.

Dollemont said the fire was reported by a passerby at 12:04 a.m.

"We had mutual aid from Riverview, Dieppe and Salisbury that were involved in extinguishing the fire."

Dollemont said fire crews fought the fire defensively. "We did not enter the building. We fought the fire from outside."

Dollemont was unsure of what the building was used for and said they were trying to locate the owner.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but Dollemont says it doesn't appear to be suspicious.
