Codiac RCMP seek man accused of assaulting girl, 15
A forensic artist completed sketch of suspect based on girl's description
Codiac RCMP have released a sketch of a suspect accused of assaulting a 15-year-old girl last month.
On Sept. 25 around 11 a.m. a 15-year-old girl was approached by a man on Mountain Road, near Church street in Moncton.
After offering the girl a drive, the man got out of his car and grabbed her by the arm. She was able to get away and run to safety.
An RCMP forensic artist completed a sketch of the suspect, based on the teen’s description.
He is described as a white man in his late 20s, average height and in good shape.
The girl told police he was driving a small, dark, dull-coloured sedan with tinted windows.
RCMP said in a news release there have been two other similar incidents that could be related. Both of those cases occurred on Mountain Road in late September and involved men with similar descriptions as the suspect police are looking for.
In each instance, a man offered a drive to a woman but there was no physical contact.
"At this point, the incident involving the 15-year-old girl is being investigated as an assault. We would like to speak with the suspect to establish his intentions. We would also like to speak with the man or men involved in the other incidents to ascertain if they are related,' said RCMP Const. Damien Thériault.
The sketch of the Sept 25 suspect has been posted on the Codiac RCMP web site. Anyone who recognizes the man or has information on any of the incidents is asked to call the detachment or Crime Stoppers.
