Bones in Janeville identified as man missing since 2006
Foul play not ruled out in death of Robert Arseneau, of Tremblay
Bones discovered on a private property in a wooded area in Janeville last December have been identified as those of a man who went missing in the spring of 2006.
Forensic results confirmed they were the remains of Robert Arseneau of Tremblay, RCMP Sgt. Alain Tremblay stated in a release on Wednesday.
The cause of death has not yet been determined and foul play has not been ruled out, said Tremblay.
Bathurst RCMP found Arseneau's vehicle on fire in the Janeville area, about 50 kilometres east of Bathurst, on June 4, 2006, but were unable to locate him.
In December 2011, bones were discovered on a private property in the area. Due to snowfall, the area was examined again in May 2012, when more bones were discovered, said Tremblay.
The investigation is ongoing, he said.
