Body recovered in Tetagouche River near Bathurst
Police don't believe foul play is involved
Police in Bathurst, N.B., recovered a man's body over the weekend.
The body was found along the bank of the Tetagouche River, which runs through the city.
Police have not determined the victim’s identity and are not saying how old he is. They did say it was obvious the body had been in the river for quite some time.
Bathurst Police Force Deputy Chief Andre Comeau said police got a call on Sunday around 2 p.m. from someone who lives near the river. The caller reported a body in the river close to the bank.
The body was sent to Saint John for autopsy.
Police say they have no reason right now to expect foul play.
