A body found in the Saint John harbour over the weekend is a female, say police.
But the cause of death and the person's identity have not yet been determined, said Sgt. Jay Henderson.
DNA tests are being conducted Monday in hopes of finding a match, he said.
Police and fire crews pulled the body from the water Saturday at around noon.
A couple of fishermen found the body not far from Long Wharf in the uptown area.
Officials have said the body could have been in the water for a week or more.
An autopsy on Sunday confirmed the body is a female.
