A body has been recovered at the Mactaquac Dam, west of Fredericton.
Police were called at 2:22 p.m. when workers at the Mactaquac Dam found a man's body.
Const. Jullie Rogers-Marsh of the RCMP said an autopsy is planned to determine a cause of death and identify the remains.
"There's nothing to suggest foul play but we haven't ruled that out yet. It's still early in the investigation," she said.
Michael McCollough, the volunteer fire department chief at Keswick Ridge Fire Department, said they found a driver's licence on the body.
He said it was someone who went missing "this year.”
He said the body was identifiable.
“It didn’t seem to be that terribly badly decomposed, still had some clothing, boots. So it wasn’t bad, bad, but it had been in the water for a while,” he said.
