Bedbug search continues at Moncton's Dumont hospital
No slowdown in ER service, says administrator
Sniffer dogs were again searching for bedbugs at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton Sunday night.
On Friday, the hospital confirmed in a statement that bedbugs were found in the ER, having come in on a patient who went to the ER on Wednesday.
Two of three closed examination rooms were reopened over the weekend, but an inspection on Saturday turned up a possibility of bugs in the third room, so the hospital kept it closed.
Hospital administrator Linda Savoie said the ER was quiet Sunday, so there was no effect on the flow of patients.
No other areas of the hospital were affected.
