Perhaps they're hoping to catch a glimpse of the Royal couple: Two bear cubs were spotted in a backyard on Limerick Road in Fredericton Sunday afternoon.

Police officers and officials from the Department of Natural Resources were called but the cubs had left the scene.

Some residents in the area said they were worried because there's a wooded park nearby.

"We've been telling people walking around the area, walking their dogs, and the children out there, just be cautious and contact us right away if they see anything," said Const. Zach Coady.

"It's just two cubs, that's all we've seen so far, but chances are the mother might not be too far away."

Coady said it's unusual for bears to be in the area. He said the cubs could have gotten lost after being separated from their mother.

Coady is asking anyone who spots the bears to call the police.
