The body of a 16-year-old boy was found in a home that was damaged by fire in Bathurst on Tuesday morning.

The Bathurst police and fire department arrived at the home on Van Tassel Street at about 4:30 a.m.

The fire did not spread beyond the residence where the teen's body was discovered.

Police investigators and the provincial fire marshal are still investigating the cause of the fire and the boy's death.
