A man from Bathurst has been charged with aggravated assault involving a month-old infant.
The 22-year-old man appeared in Bathurst provincial court on Thursday, say police.
The infant remains at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax.
The accused has been remanded in custody, pending a bail hearing on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Earlier this week, police said they had been called to the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Sept. 10 by social workers with the Department of Social Development regarding a baby, who was later transferred to the IWK.
