Bathurst family escapes house fire in pyjamas
Canadian Red Cross providing emergency housing
Six members of a Bathurst family escaped an overnight house fire in their pyjamas after city workers spotted the burning building.
A city crew saw flames coming from the family's duplex in the northern city and woke them up.
The family members were unhurt but were wearing only their pyjamas when they made it out of the burning home.
There is no word on the cause of the house fire.
The Canadian Red Cross has arranged emergency lodging and food for the couple and their four children.
The Department of Social Development is expected to bring additional help later on Friday.
