Bar holdup wearing snowmobile helmet nets prison sentence

A New Brunswick man has been handed a nine-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to robbing a Fredericton area bar while armed and masked.

Jonathan Feeney, 41, pleaded guilty to armed robbery of City Limits Sports Bar and Grill

A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to nine years in prison in connection with the armed robbery of a restaurant and bar near Fredericton last month.

Jonathan Edward Feeney, of Smithfield, had previously pleaded guilty to charges of robbery with an imitation firearm and wearing a mask during the commission of an indictable offence.

RCMP were called to the City Limits Sports Bar and Grill on Highway 10 in Richibucto Road on Feb. 4 after an armed man who was wearing a snowmobile helmet made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured.

Feeney was sentenced in Fredericton provincial court on Friday.
