Attempted murder charge laid in Saint John trailer park shooting
65-year-old man arraigned Friday while lying in a Saint John Regional Hospital bed
Saint John police and court officials crowded into a hospital room on Friday morning to lay charges in connection with a shooting at the Morland Trailer Park last week.
A 65-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and pointing a firearm at police.
Saint John police responded to reports of a domestic dispute at the east side trailer park on July 30 at about 8:20 p.m.
Neighbours had reported hearing gunshots.
A 51-year-old woman and 65-year-old man were taken to the Saint John Regional Hospital with serious injuries. They both remain in hospital.
The accused is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Oct. 9 to elect how he wants to be tried.
