Premier David Alward is poking fun at some of New Brunswick’s most well-known stereotypes in a seasonal greeting that will air on the holiday episode of This Hour has 22 Minutes.
The satirical news show will be carrying a special greeting from each of the premiers on its holiday special that airs on Dec. 11.
Alward used his 30-second appearance to talk about the holiday ritual in New Brunswick of watching the "pretty lights" of cars heading to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and then heading across the border to Maine to buy cheap gas and eggnog.
"You really haven’t lived until you’ve tried eggnog served in an old bottle of Moosehead with a side of neon pink Chicken Bones," Alward said.
"But the best part about Christmas in New Brunswick is you can cut down your own tree and no one will care."
The holiday special of This Hour is 22 Minutes will also feature guests from the original series including Mary Walsh and Greg Thomey. Barry Weiss does his Christmas shopping Storage Wars-style and Canadian actor Gordon Pinsent joins the Three Wise Men for a gift-seeking pilgrimage at the mall.
