Algonquin Hotel offers peek at $25M renovation project

The CBC's Neville Crabbe received a sneak peek at the $25-million renovation project happening at the iconic Algonquin Hotel in St. Andrews.

Iconic hotel in St. Andrews will reopen in June

The historic Algonquin Hotel has been closed for renovations since October 2:20

The Algonquin Hotel in St. Andrews was closed last fall as the iconic hotel was closed for a $25-million renovation project.

The resort is expected to be open on June 1, 2013. When it opens its doors again, the Algonquin will be a part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, a brand of luxury hotels.

In March 2012, the New Brunswick government sold the historic hotel to New Castle Hotels and Resorts and Southwest Properties.

The Tudor-style Algonquin hotel was built in 1889 by the St. Andrews Land Co

The CBC's Neville Crabbe was at the hotel on Wednesday and got a peek inside the iconic property.
