Codiac Regional RCMP are investigating after an 80-year-old woman was held up at her Moncton home on Monday night.

A masked man armed with a knife went to the home on Williams Street at about 9 p.m., Const. Damien Thériault stated in a release.

When the woman, who was alone at the time, opened the door, the man entered and demanded money, Thériault said.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The woman was not injured.

The suspect is described as being about five-foot-nine, slim and English-speaking.

He was wearing a light blue hoodie with an oval design on the back at the time, said Thériault.
