RCMP are asking anyone with information about the theft or the stolen items to contact them. (CBC)

The Oromocto RCMP are seeking the public's help after six firearms were stolen from a local residence over the Christmas holidays.

The two rifles, two shotguns and two handguns had been properly and safety stored in the home, located on Miramichi Road, Sgt. Joël Saule stated in a news release.

They include:

  • Winchester Model 12, 12-gauge shotgun, with a 28" barrel
  • Ithaca 20-gauge, double-barrel shotgun
  • Ithaca .22-calibre rifle "Saddle Gun"
  • Savage 99E, .308-calibre rifle
  • Two Para 1911, .45-calibre handguns

Jewelry and electronics were also taken during the break and enter that occurred some time between Dec. 24 and Jan. 1, said Saule.
