5 escape serious injury after Quispamsis car crash
Kennebecasis Regional Police say pick-up truck driver fell asleep and sideswiped an oncoming car
The Kennebecasis Regional Police Force closed the Palmer Brook Road in Quispamsis for about an hour on Thursday night following a serious two-vehicle crash.
The crash happened off the highway near Elliot Road at about 7 p.m.
Police say the driver of a pick-up truck fell asleep behind the wheel. The truck crossed the centre line and sideswiped a car coming in the opposite direction.
Police officers say the truck was very close to colliding with the vehicle head-on.
Both cars are damaged beyond repair, according to the police.
Five people, including two children, were sent to hospital for observation after the accident.
Police say the children suffered cuts from the broken glass, but their injuries are not believed to be serious.
