3rd alleged sexual assault victim in Moncton
Akili Olivier Koro, 31, is expected to face additional charges
A Sainte-Marie-de-Kent man is expected to face additional charges after a third alleged sexual assault victim in Moncton has come forward, say RCMP.
Akili Olivier Koro, 31, was charged earlier this week with several offences, including kidnapping, sexual assault with a weapon and forcible confinement in connection with two sexual assaults that allegedly occurred in the city over the past two months.
In both cases, the victims were walking on St. George Street between midnight and 3 a.m. when a man approached them, police said. The women got into the man's car and were driven to another location where they were allegedly assaulted.
A third woman has now come forward, alleging to have been a victim, Codiac Regional RCMP Const. Damien Thériault stated in a release.
Police believe there could have been other assaults that have not yet been reported, he said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 506-857-2400.
Koro remains remanded in custody until a bail hearing on Nov. 13.
He is charged with aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping and assault causing bodily harm in connection with an alleged incident on Oct. 31.
He is also charged with forcible confinement, sexual assault with a weapon, assault, and mischief for an alleged incident on Sept. 20.
