2nd man arrested in Geary homicide won't be charged, say RCMP
David John Doucette, 24, released after questioning
A second man arrested in connection with the death of a man in Geary on Wednesday morning will not face any charges, say RCMP.
David John (DJ) Doucette, 24, of Geary, who is believed to be originally from the Halifax area, was released after being questioned.
Harry Edward Charlie McKenna, 47, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Kirk Blair, 61.
RCMP were called to a house on Branch Road at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, where they discovered Blair's body.
Police have not released any information about how Blair died.
McKenna was arrested at the scene.
Doucette was arrested about 14 hours later in Burton, after police had issued a release asking for the public's help in locating him.
"As a result of the police investigation, a 24-year-old man who was arrested in Burton on May 1, 2013, in connection with the murder of a 61-year-old man in Geary earlier that day, has been released from custody without charges," Cpl. Chantal Farrah stated in a release.
"The investigation is ongoing," she said.
McKenna has not yet entered a plea.
He has been remanded in custody with his next court appearance slated for May 16.
The RCMP have said all three individuals knew each other and the homicide is being treated as an isolated incident.
