2nd-degree murder charge laid in Fredericton stabbing
Kelvin Colburn Constant accused of killing Christian Mauric Grueso
A charge of second-degree murder has been laid in connection with the death of a man in Fredericton on the weekend.
Kelvin Colburn Constant, 34, of Hanwell Road, was charged in provincial court in Fredericton on Monday.
The victim is identified as Christian Mauric Grueso, 24.
Constant was remanded until March 3 to allow time for him to obtain legal aid.
Fredericton Police Force officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Angelview Court at about 2:05 a.m. on Sunday.
When they arrived at the scene, they found a victim in critical condition. The victim later died.
Six hours later, police arrested a suspect just outside the city.
The investigation continues.
