Two Saint John firefighters were injured when they were battling a fire on Douglas Avenue on Wednesday.

Two firefighters were sent to the Saint John Regional Hospital with injuries after a fire on Douglas Avenue late on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire started in a three-unit rowhouse.

Crews called in extra help and it took more than two hours to extinguish the blaze.

One firefighter was treated for injuries to his hands and the other for heat exhaustion.
