Woman seriously injured in LaSalle after being hit by truck

A 28-year-old woman is in hospital with serious injuries to her legs after being hit by a truck in LaSalle this morning.

Truck was turning onto Newman Boulevard when it hit pedestrian

A 28-year-old woman who was hit by a truck in LaSalle this morning, and rushed to hospital with serious injuries to her legs, is expected to survive.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday at the corner of Newman Boulevard and Thierry Street.

Const. Manuel Couture of the Montreal police said the woman was crossing the street when a truck travelling southbound on Thierry began turning west onto Newman.

The truck hit the pedestrian while making the turn.

A witness was treated for shock.

Newman Boulevard was closed between Thierry and Lapierre streets for several hours.
