A 30-year-old woman was killed in downtown Montreal Thursday afternoon after being hit by a dump truck.

The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. ET at the corner of Mackay Street and Ste-Catherine Street West.

Witnesses told police that the truck was turning right onto Mackay, that the woman was walking straight and that they both had the green light.

Montreal police closed Mackay south of Ste-Catherine and reduced Ste-Catherine to one lane as they investigate what happened.
