West Quebec crash kills 4

Four people, including a child, were killed in a head-on collision Monday in La Vérendrye wildlife reserve.

A four-year-old child was among four people killed in a head-on collision Monday in the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve in western Quebec.

All four were in a car that collided with a pickup truck that had crossed the centre line and swerved into oncoming traffic on Highway 117.

The accident happened near Lac Larouche, about 160 kilometres north of Mont-Laurier.

Another child in the car is expected to survive.

Two people in the truck were also taken to hospital.

Police haven’t said if charges will be laid.

Quebec provincial police expect to release more details about the victims today.
