A cyclist in his sixties is in stable condition in hospital after he collided with a flatbed truck at the intersection of St-Jean Boulevard North and De Salaberry Boulevard in Dollard-Des-Ormeaux.
Montreal police spokesman Danny Richer said the cyclist was wearing earphones at the time of the collision and did not have a helmet on.
He is in stable condition.
The truck driver was treated at the scene for shock and was cooperating with investigating officers.
The collision occurred close to where a bike path that runs parallel with De Salaberry Boulevard crosses busy St-Jean Boulevard.
A sign at the intersection tells cyclists to dismount and walk their bikes.
Cyclist Ingrid Lamarre was interviewed by CBC News at the scene and she said she knows the corner, but does her best to avoid it.
"It's a corner you try to avoid because there are too many lanes, and the lights are not too well timed. So you cross at your peril," she said.
Lamarre said as a cyclist you're never sure if cars turning on to St-Jean Boulevard can see you.
