Team Eastern Canada loses chance to play Nations Cup in Brazil

It was a disappointing afternoon for some young soccer players from Montreal who were competing on Team Eastern Canada for a chance to represent the country at the Danone Nations Cup finals in Brazil.

This is the 15th year of the Danone Cup, which involves 32 countries and this year 2.3 million kids participating in the selection process, from which 384 will travel to Brazil for a four-day competition.

It was a disappointing afternoon for some young soccer players from Montreal who were competing on Team Eastern Canada for a chance to represent the country at the Danone Nations Cup finals in Brazil.  

After going into added tied at 1-1, Team Western Canada managed to score an additional two goals to end the match 3-1.

The Nations Cup is the biggest youth soccer tournament in the world, with 2.3 million 11- and 12-year-olds participating in the selection process.

Of those, 384 will travel to Brazil for a four-day competition.
