A suspect in a bar brawl that left another man dead in a town southeast of Montreal, is in police custody.

A suspect in a bar brawl that left a man dead in a town southeast of Montreal is in police custody.

Authorities say they arrested a man near Austin, an hour and a half southeast of Montreal, on Wednesday. He was wanted in connection with the man's death.

Police were called to the bar in Knowlton, Que., at around 2:25 a.m. Wednesday. They found a man lying behind the building suffering from serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is unclear how many people were involved in the fight or what the motive was for the brawl.

Police are questioning the man in custody. They have not laid any charges.
