Suspect in custody after downtown shooting
Victim in stable condition with gunshot wound to upper-body
A man is in stable condition in hospital after a downtown shooting early Friday morning.
Police have a suspect in custody in connection with the shooting, which happened around 2:10 a.m. on Saint-André Street between René-Lévesque Boulevard and Viger Street.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was shot once in the upper-body.
Police spokesman Const. Raphael Bergeron said the suspect is a man in his early 40s.
“The link between the two of them is still to be determined and the reason for the attack is still to be determined also,” he said.
Bergeron said the victim was not cooperating with police.
The investigation into the shooting continues.
