When a group of Montreal high school students school originally planned a high school trip to Rome, the students had no idea they were about to see history in the making.

Davide DeMarco, a Grade 11 student, and Naz Ruscito, an ancient history and geography teacher, are both from Loyola High School in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.

They spoke with CBC's Daybreak on Tuesday about being in Rome during the papal conclave.
