A forestry worker in the Lanaudière has turned up safe and sound after going missing last night.
The 49-year-old Joliette man was working in the woods near outfitter Pignon Rouge Mokocan in St-Michel-des-Saints.
He left his work crew around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon, saying he felt ill.
When his co-workers returned to the camp later on and didn’t find him, they called the police.
A rescue team including a helicopter searched through the night for the man.
“We wanted to find him as soon as possible because he was feeling sick at the beginning of the afternoon,” McInnis said.
He was found on an ATV trail by the helicopter this morning, said Sergeant Ronald McInnis of the Sûreté du Québec.
The man had gotten lost on his way back to the camp and had made a fire to keep warm and signal rescue crews.
He is in good condition.
