Police raid Montreal-area drug ring

Officials carried out searches at eight homes and one business in Montreal, Longueuil and Carignan Thursday morning. (CBC)
Investigators are raiding nine different locations believed to be part of a drug ring in the Montreal area.
Officials carried out searches at eight homes and one business in Montreal, Longueuil and Carignan starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
Richer said investigators confiscated narcotics as well as Canadian cash and a firearm.
Montreal police Const. Danny Richer said officers believe the locations are a part of a drug distribution network.
Richer said investigators are meeting with 12 individuals who were detained by officers during the searches.
Richer said the raids are a part of an ongoing investigation.
